Can I use my private healthcare Insurance?

If your health insurance covers you, this means that you can have the full course of your massage therapy treatments, without worrying about the cost.

The key is to check your policy & if you can’t find something which specifies Massage Therapy, call them or drop them an email & ask.

If you are just about to take out a policy & want to know which insurance companies cover massage therapy ahead of time .do call.

Most will also have a page on their website detailing what they cover.

Health insurance providers will specify that the therapist must be qualified to a high standard and often that these massage specialists have liability insurance themselves.

Being a member of the CNHC means I am more likely to be accepted but it is not a guarantee.

What’s the process for getting a massage on my health insurance policy?

Firstly, if you’re not sure whether it covers you, call and ask .

They may ask for you to get a referral from your GP which is usually not an issue. A doctor’s referral letter can help in giving a direction of whats needed to return you to optimal health.

Also ask your insurers how many sessions your policy covers as different companies have different allowances.

Some massage techniques may be covered whilst others won’t be. If you’ve had a Swedish massage sometimes this won’t be covered, but remedial or deep tissue work may be. This is because these are the specific remedial actions which are well known to improve muscular health.

If you have a condition that a lighter modality such as Swedish massage might be more beneficial, then get a referral from your medical practitioner stating this & speak to your insurance company.

Will I get everything back or will I have to pay an excess?

This depends on your individual policy cover. You may be liable to pay an excess so factor this cost in when booking your treatments.

What are your prices?

£95 - 1 hour

£71 - 45 mins

£47 - 30 mins

Bear in mind that you will need to cover any excess
